17 days of cycling + 3 rest days en route and 3 nights in Rome at the end Major Highlights: Amsterdam, riding along the Rhine, riding thru the Black Forest, Switzerland riding, Gotthard Pass, Bellagio on Lake Como, riding through Tuscany, Florence, and Rome Trip Totals: 1205 mi and 65k+ feet of climbing; climbing portions of the ride (factoring out Rhine and Po valleys) are about 90 ft/mi (Austin area rides range from 75 to 105 ft/mi) All of the hotels have been chosen for their location and decent value. We splurged in a few places, but tried to stick to a reasonable budget. Additionally, Paul got us free rooms in Amsterdam, Florence, and Rome at some swanky places - woo hoo!!
